Borough mayor Russell Copeman brought together elected officials from all levels of government in Côte-des-Neiges and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce on January 24.
According to a news release, the objective was to discuss and adopt a joint strategy to address the major challenges and issues facing the borough. He hopes this collaboration will ultimately make it possible to improve the quality of life of citizens in CDN—NDG by ensuring that decisions-makers at all four levels of government work together and push in the same direction.
They discussed the leading issues, including the future of the Hippodrome site, the quality and availability of housing, improved access to the MUHC, and the sharing of public spaces in order to meet the expectations of the population.
The successful completion of major projects requires a coordinated effort by everyone involved, said Russell Copeman. In the current context where public authorities must make financial choices and prioritize projects, it is important that all elected officials in the same territory share a vision in regard to its development.
