New residential project in Monkland Village

A residential project has gotten the go ahead from the CDN-NDG borough council that will include 44 units at the corner of Monkland Ave. and Draper Ave.
The project will involve the demolition of the three businesses that are currently there—a restaurant, hair salon and a Couche-Tard depanneur—and the construction of a four-story building. The current construction includes a small parking area in front of the businesses. The new construction will extend to the sidewalk and its main floor will remain businesses with entry from Monkland Ave.
The top three floors will include
44 residential units with an entrance from Draper Ave. Thirty parking spaces will be provided in an underground lot.
The project has been approved by council but still has to go through the public consultation process before a date for completion can be set.
