Applebaum urges clean-up
Article mis en ligne le jeudi 15 avril 2010

Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is joining the city-wide clean-up initiative known as Grande Opération Montréal.net. Michael Applebaum hopes to get as many people as possible involved in the clean-up efforts that will take place on the weekend of
April 24 and April 25.

Many businesses are teaming up with Montréal to make the city more beautiful. “Every little action and every initiative can add up to a big difference when it comes to the condition of our neighbourhoods, and that’s why I’m encouraging everyone to come out in force on April 24 and April 25 for the big clean-up operations in Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce,” said the mayor.

Gifts and prizes

People can form small, medium or large groups to organize their own clean-up activities and register their projects on the operationmontreal.net website, entering the time and location of the activity. Groups of over 25 participants will receive a clean-up kit including gloves, garbage bags and t-shirts.

Participants who have registered their project on the activity calendar may be visited by radio station promotional vehicles while they are out cleaning up parks, alleys and sidewalks. Eleven radio station teams will tour the area to say hello to volunteers and hand out gifts and prizes.

Join Éco-quartier efforts

Saturday, April 24 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Éco-quartier Côte-des-Neiges invites residents to clean up the alleyway between Kent, Decelles, Van Horne and Côte-des-Neiges. The section of Van Horne between Decelles and Côte-des-Neiges will also be targeted. The gathering point is at the corner of Decelles and Van Horne.

Éco-quartier Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is holding a clean-up near the Maisonneuve bike path (between Girouard and West Broadway) Saturday between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The rallying point for participants will be at the corner of Girouard and De Maisonneuve at 1:00 p.m.
