Master Plan still under development Article mis en ligne le jeudi 10 juin 2010 The Côte-des-Neiges–Notre–Dame-de-Grâce (CDN—NDG) borough administration wants to reassure the public about the objectives of the Master Plan that is currently under development by the Direction de la culture, des sports, des loisirs et du développement social (DSLC). “Our goal with this plan is to maintain our facilities and services, not to shut down buildings that belong to the Ville de Montréal,” said borough director Stéphane Plante. Plante emphasized that the consultation process that began last March is still underway, and that no recommendations had been made to borough officials. He also pointed out that this administrative process, undertaken with the support of many community and resident organizations, is a democratic exercise carried out in good faith. If the Master Plan is adopted, task forces will be created to implement the recommendations. The reason for setting up a Master Plan for the borough’s sports and cultural facilities reflects the municipal administration’s desire to maintain a high level of service while remaining within the current budget limits.
