Fall pickup and dropoff dates
Article mis en ligne le jeudi 11 août 2011

The Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough’s public works department has scheduled special pickup and dropoff operations for hazardous waste or dead leaves throughout the fall.

Weekly green-waste collection is every Wednesday from September 7 to November 9. Accepted types of waste are dead leaves, grass cuttings, weeds, garden waste and branches tied in bundles (branches must be less than 5 cm in diameter and cut to less than 1 m long). Table waste, including meat and cooked vegetables, will not be accepted.

Place your green waste in compostable paper bags (available in most larger stores) or a reusable garbage bin. Containers and bags must be placed at curbside before 7 a.m.

Starting in spring 2012, plastic bags will no longer be allowed for green-waste pickup.

The borough is organizing a household hazardous waste (HHW) collection in the parking lot of Doug Harvey Arena on Saturday, September 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The address of the arena is 4985 West Hill avenue.

Types of HHW accepted for dropoff are paint, batteries, aerosol cans, medication, vehicle batteries, fluorescent tubes, compact fluorescent bulbs, spent propane canisters, and chemicals.

This one-day dropoff operation is in addition to the recovery services already provided by the Côte-des-Neiges Ecocentre.

Pick-up of recyclables and household waste will proceed as usual on the Labour Day (September 5) and Thanksgiving (October 10) holidays.
